Why this circle exists
Most of us do this work behind a closed door. We hold a great deal of what people carry, all day, and then it goes quiet. The Huddle is the simplest antidote I could think of: once a month, the people who do healing work around here sit in a room together and actually meet.
What it is for
So that nobody doing this work in Central Oregon has to do it alone, and so that a client who needs something I cannot give can be handed to someone I know by name.
Every gathering we go once around the room: your name, what you do, one thing you can offer, one thing you are looking for. That is the whole mechanism. Referrals, collaboration and real support grow out of it, slowly, the way healthy things grow.
Where it is going
A web of practitioners across the modalities who know each other well enough to refer with confidence, to ask for help without apologising, and to notice when one of us is running on empty. Therapy, bodywork, acupuncture, naturopathic and psychiatric care, nutrition, movement, and whatever else belongs in that room.
Nothing about this requires a membership, a fee, or a commitment to show up every month. Come once. Come when you can.
How Aspen Counseling fits
I am Timothy Moore, a licensed professional counselor and the director of Aspen Counseling here in Sisters. Aspen hosts the Huddle: the room, the tea, and the person who unlocks the door. That is the whole of its role.
- The circle is free, and it always will be. Aspen covers what little it costs.
- It is not an Aspen program and not a referral funnel. The room is deliberately wider than counseling, and most of the people in it do work I do not do.
- Nobody pays for a referral here, and nobody ever will. No finder's fees, in either direction.
- Being listed on this site is not a recommendation from me or from Aspen Counseling. Practitioners write their own listings.
- What people share about themselves stays in the room. No client names, no identifying details, ever.
What it is not
This is a professional peer circle. It is not therapy, not supervision, and not a support group, and it is not a networking mixer where people hand out cards and pitch. A circle, not a mixer.
If you are looking for care for yourself, that is a good and ordinary thing to want, and this is not the place to find it. In a crisis, call or text 988. Otherwise ask me and I will point you toward someone outside my practice.
Coming along
Third Tuesday of every month, 6:30 to 8:30pm, at Aspen Counseling, 704 W Hood Suite C in Sisters. Free, tea provided, eight to twenty people. Any month that meets somewhere else says so on the gatherings list.
